What a great surprise! February 19, 2009 Word Weaver (California) 101 out of 102 found this review helpful
After looking for a small, white, kitchen TV in all the stores, and finding nothing at all that would be appropriate, I found this one on-line. After reading the mostly good reviews written for it (both the black version as well as this in white), I decided to take a chance and order it without first seeing it "in person." It arrived within two days, and it was terrifically simple to set up. I have obviously been living in the dark ages with the small 9" kitchen TV it replaced. It's a perfect size for the table top, the color and sound are superior to the old one, the various features and options are fabulous to now have in the kitchen -- a variety of picture sizes, shapes, and modes (yes, "movie" seems the best) and even the DVD option will be useful too I bet. I like the wide screen and size in general for this small spot, and it should all look even better when they switch everything over to digital within the month and I get my adapter box. I agree, there is a few second's delay when switching channels, but that seems to be the only fault I can find and it's pretty minor to me. The red light is no problem at all and a tiny light in the kitchen at night isn't a bad thing! This has been a really pleasant surprise!
Toshiba LCD TV February 11, 2009 V Ryan (Ohio, USA) 52 out of 52 found this review helpful
I was looking for a white or silver tv for my kitchen. Very difficult to find an under the cabinet height white tv - so was excited to have found this. I was disappointed when it arrived because it did not have the holes necessary to mount it underneath the upper cupboards with mounting hardware. I had read reviews indicating this was a problem on smaller Toshibas so I made the effort to call, before ordering and verify that this one could be mounted. The sales/service people assured me this model could be mounted. That was not accurate. This model can not be mounted (has no mounting holes) and the stand can not be removed. I haven't had this long and haven't even tried the DVD player but the picture is great so I am keeping it - it will just have to sit on the countertop.
Disappointment May 9, 2009 Wolfgang H. Vogel (Bonita Springs FL) 82 out of 93 found this review helpful
We recently bought the white 19 inch Toshiba TV/DVD which was delivered promptly. It worked fine for 2 weeks and then we lost the picture. Talking to Toshiba we were informed that we had to send the TV to its repair center where it would be repaired free of charge - BUT we had to pay for packing and shipping costing us $ 62. A new Tv should work longer then 2 weeks and if it breaks right after delivery Toshiba should pay for the shipping (which they did not do)
Had we bought the TV at a nearby shop we could have returned it and would have recived a new one - without paying!!!! This is the danger of having products shipped.
EXCELLENT KITCHEN TV !!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 5, 2009 Harry Littlewood 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
THIS TV IS JUST PERFECT. I CANNOT BELIEVE THE LESS THAN GREAT REVIEWS.
FOR THOSE WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE RED STAND BY LIGHT, JUST GO TO THE MENU AND SELECT SETUP AND IT GIVES AN OFF/ON OPTION. SELECT OFF AND THE LIGHT GOES AWAY.

I was looking for a small white TV for the kitchen and found this one. We hooked it up to our cable. When I turned it on the picture was fuzzy, even on the digital channels that are usually HD, so at first I thought I had received a model that wasn't HD. However, I found that there is a setting called "video label" that wasn't turned on to HD as the default setting. Once I set it for HDTV for cable, then I started receiving an HD picture on the digital channels. Even the channels that are analog and not HD look fine now. I also had to change the default color scheme from cool to warm to get the perfect coloring for faces. Now the picture is great! It's the perfect size for the kitchen. You do need to place it away from the stove and the sink.
